Rogers announces iPhone finally

Rogers iPhoneRogers issued a VERY short press release on the iPhone launch in Canada today:

TORONTO, April 29 – Ted Rogers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rogers Communications Inc. today issued the following statement: We’re thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year. We can’t tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned.

The inside info I have is that we can expect the iPhone in September. But since I’m getting the same releases as my senior insiders at Rogers, we seem to be getting the same news at the same time. That means the deal is being done as quickly as possible (which makes sense given this extremely short release, with a distinct lack of information) or Rogers has taken notes from Apple on the art of keeping a secret.
